Twitter’s a funny thing, not just the haha funny like me, but also the strange funny. I thought I could use it though to help with some new material. I’ve started following the #joke function on twitter to get an idea of what kind of material is out there. Here’s some of the stuff I’ve found so far:
“What do you call a grizzly bear with no teeth? A gummy bear #Joke” haha
“Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig. #3” Benoink understands this one…
“Yikes it’s September already. Christmas is on its way. #joke” – I don’t really get this one, where’s the punchline?
“Why did the chicken walk into the library? To buy a ‘BUCK’ #Joke” – this ones really funny if you say the ‘buck’ bit in a chicken’s voice – but again it doesn’t really make sense because you don’t buy books from libraries, so maybe I’d change this one to bookshop if I used it.
So there is some good stuff out there, but I think twitter’s a bit limiting for jokes – I’ve never tended to go for the one liners in my stand-up because I think they’re a bit small. In giggs I tend to go for longer stories and anecdotes – animal humour’s always good though, so I could use it somehow – there’s probably a lot of scope with those pig and chicken ideas. I think bloggs and giggs can give a lot more variety than those 150 character #jokes. Stayed tuned for some new material from JOJ (yours truly)
What do you call a cow with no legs? Ground Beef. Hahahahahahahahahaha
